Semla!

Jag lyckades tajma mitt besök i Sverige då det var semle dags! Överallt var det semlor; i affärer, restauranger, flygplatsen och även på TV.

Det är lite extra lyxigt att få se nyhetsmorgon på TV4, det är inte varje dag ska ni veta….och dagen till ära var det super talangfulla Tommy Myllymäki (årets kock 2007 om någon mot förmodan har missat det) som bakade semlor i rutan!

I happened to time my visit to Sweden right when it was season premier for Swedish Semla (Swedish style sweet roll with cardamom spiced wheat bun which has its top cut off and insides scooped out, and is then filled with a mix of the scooped-out bread crumbs, milk and almond paste, topped with whipped cream). I saw “semla” everywhere; in stores, restaurants, airport and even on the TV.

It’s a real special treat to watch Swedish morning show on the channel TV4, it’s not every day I get to watch it…and on that very day they had invited Tommy Myllymäki (The chef of the year 2007, in case anyone had missed that) who was baking Swedish semla in the studio!
